Brought back memories of my own “job shadowing” days and remember being too scared to ask any questions. Was too judgmental and naive. Commend you and your writing skills for your vivid portrayal of your days. I’m always amazed by the outputs of creative folks and I am still wonder struck most times a giant airplane takes off. Who’d have thunk it? As usual beautiful piece of writing!

Aah … missed the most obvious engineering creativity of an airplane … thanks for pointing it out. But I guess that’s the thing with the truly creative pieces of engineering - they become so much a part of our daily lives that they become objects and products of utility that the ingenuity of thinking and coupling of imaginations with hardcore scientific principles behind them is relegated to obscurity/invisibility.

Hi Shantanu ,

Though I continue to remain distant from books but loved your article for the unique insights on creativity . You are person who's been in industry which thrives on creativity.

I feel that its a process which despite all efforts to understand , will at core always remain intuitive.

The aforementioned Reacherhead enjoyed these musings and found much to nod along to :) Also, I've been wanting to find myself in the right headspace to enjoy Everything Everywhere All At Once (many fellow Emerson alums involved too, as an added matter of pride!).

On EEAATO … don’t miss. Whatever your headspace, it’ll put it right!
